Something absolutely terrible is happening on the rp server. Last night there was no gundealers, as I am trusted I decided I would go it. I went gundealer and for about 30 minutes I was making a killing. But then it started, the group of power hungry/idiotic rebels decided it would be fun to shoot me in the street, destroy my computers, rob me( which was just shooting me in the street then taking my money) and of course doing a stick-up (pretty much the same as robbing, except they said "this is a stick-up" first).
So what did I decide to do? I had a Denial of Service to all rebels, that's when they started to get "hits" on me, which doesn't make any sense and is the stupidest, poorest excuse for roleplay I have ever seen. They then stopped for about 10 minutes and I decided to give them another chance, as they wouldn't stop crying about it.
So what did they all do? THEY APOLOGISED:mad::mad:.
This pissed me off so very much because it showed that the rebels in awol rp have become so dependent on guns. Some may say "hey, what else are they supposed to do". Well maybe they should try using there little imaginations to come up with something other than shooting. The cops can't do anything and I don't blame them, taking away all their weapons and making them buy a gun is a silly idea, maybe you could make the police Chief be able to spawn cheap stunsticks or even 9mm's.
Hopefully when beta is over there will be a lot more for them to do, if I wanted to deathmatch, I'd go play other Rp's (who said I'm talking about IC-RP?)

When it comes to fair you can't stop selling to rebels due to NLR, but you could of hired a body guard or something like that. But if they are continuously random death matching you just report it and let them have fun for the day and the next day they'll be gone. Smile and GG.

I'm not pissed off that they killed me, I'm pissed off that they had nothing else to do so they killed me, if you get my drift.

Fair enough, when I'm rebel I either go Technician or scientist and when I am technician I just buy computers buy a gun and sit in my house playing music until I need food and do basically nothing but passive. When I am scientist I sell drugs :) Sometimes I have the urge to sit on a roof top shooting around people but not hitting them. Until they retaliate and have a long ranged war it's pretty fun, lol.

NLR doesn't stop selling guns to rebels.
If you own the store, you have the right to deny service to anybody you want. Just say they look shadey or that you ran a check on them and they're not alloud to own weapons.

And no guns for cops, WHAT THE FUCK?

Make it so you choose an alignment when you join the game (rebel civ cop etc) then a profession, and not all alignments have all the professions) so cops can have dedicated CP officers.

Make it so the settings don't change until you die (set it up for your next spawn).

I told you making guns hard to get was only going to lead to powergaming dickheads.

Make pistols (like HL2 pistols) cheap as chips but the real discouragement is in the price of ammo.
I'D POP A CAP IN YO ASS... IF I COULD AFFORD IT!!

And strangely enough barely any cops bught guns, the rebels were about 75% of my business.

Yeh, I just wanted to say that I was a cop at the same time Spiffy was the gun dealer. The rebels were randomly killing him for no reason, and then crying because he didn't want to sell them guns. Then people were saying that it's unfair not to sell to them. I THINK THAT IS STUPID! I thought the whole point of making gun dealers have to be trusted was to prevent this exact problem from occurring. If people do not know how to rp properly then they do not deserve guns, end of story

want to know the real problem? once a rebel hacks a computer. they have nothing else to do. NO ONE BUYS DRUGS. seriously if we dont want dming why do we have an attack drug?

anyway spiffy// your awol. warn them. if it continues kick them... happens again ban then for a short amount of time.

but seriously if they said this is a stick up thats rping. not random dming.

What I have noticed is that DM'ing has gotten worse since Gun Dealers was trusted?

ive noticed if an awol is in any position other cop then the server minges because awol have too much money and can seel at a loss just to be the person people buys off.

and if your in the awol group then yes

Here's what i do, when i'm gun dealer - make the prices fucking exspensive.
If they REALLY need the gun, then they'll pay $500 for the deagle. Not only will they get the deagle but you'll make $250 profit. As the situation escalates more people buy more guns.

Cops on the other hand? Sell it to them for a cheaper normal price. They shouldn't have to keep the peace AND pay full price for weapons. Gundealers have to relise that they have the tools to control how much anarchy goes on in the server.

Exspensive guns = not many customers and even less deathmatching.
Cheap guns = lots of customers and lots of killing.

yeah i would like it, if rebels would be more creative, i usually am but for some reason cops never seem to find out what I'm up too. I had a massive drug ring going on with 5 other people and not one cop found out...(im not trying to be found out), but yeah.

I have never seen any other rebel try things out like that, they just dm.) The drugs are there to rollplay with, the game is about rollplaying, who cares if they don't have much of a purpose.. rollplay a junkie, try to get a fix. be creative.

People used to rollplay without gamemodes try to remember that.

Yeh Elite I have seen you and exiled do things like that. I like the idea. The thing is, it's not the rebels who are rping wrongly. Even dm is acceptable to a certain degree for rebels eg. Murder, Assassination and Robbery. The big problem is that I very rarely see cops that do there job properly (except the police chief). Cops seem to be more interested in collecting fines then actually going out and doing there job. At one stage I was police chief with 3 other cops and two of them stayed inside of the police station for 95% of the time despite my insisting that they go patrol. I have no idea how to fix this problem because it has nothing to do with the game... It's to do with the people playing it. You would not believe how few cops actually listen to the police chief (at least when I am playing the role, don't know about others).:(:(
