RP Rules

I'd like people to recommend rules for the RP server.
Currently we do not really have any set rules.

My first rule would be no mic spamming.

Microphone Rules:

Music spamming: No.
Using "lua" to get around muting: I think that this rule should be enforced.
General Rules:

No randomly taking un-frozen props/items, that gets extremely annoying.

Anyone add anymore?

No random buildings/contraptions in the streets.

Today I jumped on and saw a ridiculous amount of useless crap in the street. Like 8x4 PHX props just standing upright doing nothing except blocking the road. Really makes the server look more like a sandbox than an RP.

They are general rules. There needs to be other rules specific to the classes but the is the jist of it.

This thread should be buzzing with activity. People get off your lazy ass and contribute. You all play on the RP server. Being a part of AWOL doesn't just give you the status, you need to pull your weight and contribute.

I think the following should not be allowed-

Retrying to escape a jail sentence or to be un-muted

Random arresting

Searching without reason/ asking the owner of the door/ the chiefs consent (as long as you have one of the three it should be alright)

Leaving doors open after searching without letting people know they have been searched - and also randomly opening doors (otherwise people do not know that their doors are unlocked)

Being AFK or not selling food when you are a chef - Can be really annoying if only one of three chefs is actually selling food when you are starving

Mouthing off to admins and AWOL members

Not rping properly ie. Cops being in the cop station the WHOLE TIME :mad: it happens all the time and gets very annoying for a police chief.

Aswell as the obvious rules which people have already mentioned eg. Prop Killing, Dming, Mic Spamming etc.

Also I think the difference between server rules and in game laws should be clearly defined as well as an in depth definition of the NLR and what is/ is not following this rule properly as it is very complicated and contradicting despite it's simplicity.

Because I am sick of people saying "Awww, sorry I didn't know that constantly random arresting and prop killing wasn't allowed"

And then think that this is a good enough excuse and cry when they get banned!

Yeah, NLR. NLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLRNLR, So many people Don't follow it, Also we need a better definition, like if we starve to death, does it count? Also if someone has a warrent on them and they die, is there still a warrent on them? And does it count if you die in jail?

But a nice list or rules (Decided not to go for the government way and have a whole documant on each.)

*Respect everyone
*Dont be a vigilante, if someone is Minging etc, dont play the admin.
*No mic spamming, including music.
*Mic is for OOC, no execptions.
*No LUA hacks, especially from AWOL members. (sets a shit example to other players)
*No prop blocking, prop pushing, prop DMing, prop spamming.
*DO report minges to Admins, or tell an AWOL member. (demo them and post a link on forums)
*No DMing (saying you are a serial killer doesn's cut it)
*Be a civilian worker if you are going AFK
*No confusing Police with Admin (If someone is minging, don't jail them)
*No random arresting or door ramming.
*Retrying to un-mute or un-arrest (having the server keep you arrested/muted for 10 mins after you leave the server or something would be good)
*If someone wants to buy a class pecific thing off you (eg. screen) you have to sell it. (Guns an exception?)
*The AWOL Forum rules.

That's all I can think of right now. If I have any others I'll add them after this line.

Do not break windows with props.
Also each rule should come with a set ban time viewable by the public.

I agree with Noob but so long as excessive talking (Proper Conversations) isn't classed as Mic spam unless they have been warned to shut their MOOT!
But using HLDJ or something similar without asking first should be instant One day ban.

Oh i got another one.

All AWOL admins and members have the right to refuse entry into the server of anyone they deem incompetent role players.
All AWOL admins and members have the right to enforce new rules that have not been placed on the rules list should the problem arise.
So long as their has been a direct warning Example " Bithmar IF YOU DO NOT STOP MIC SPAMMING YOU WILL BE BANNED"

All those who use this function will be expected to write a report and submit their rule for review to become a part of AWOL RP's main rules.

Wouldn't mind no killing without a good reason chucked up there. That leaves no excuse for anyone to go out and kill someone just because your feeling bored or because you have a gun you might as well use it. Which i guess is a common feeling once you have a gun, but please try to use it like you would in real life. Don't go blowing peoples heads off because you feel like it.

Trespassing is a reason to kill somebody but try to have some self restraint, don't go shooting people anywhere in a hotel just because you have a room there.

Elite, thats what the no DMing rule is. But are we allowed to break windows with props? Because it can get really annoying when you need a broken window and you dont want to buy a gun. Also if you buy a gun you should be able to use it.
Also Cube, you have a point, you should disipline us better. (< know that sounds shit)

2, No hat no play no fun today. (mech should make hat dealer and if you cant afford a hat you must stay under cover until you can afford one)
3, No secrets.
4, Tuesday is girls day on the oval.

PS: any broken rules and you get SHOT ON SITE.
